Another fantastic day. Out on 9m late morning and well powered for a while, but then it started filling in until I was struggling to retrieve the board after a spill. Back to the beach and couldn't hold it fully depowered so let it down on the safety. (chart showed a peak of 35 after midday - probably about when I gave up). Quick snack and out with the 5.5m, By then It had moderated a bit (around 25-low 30's on the chart) but I'd already rigged it... Had to work the kite a bit but OK once moving and had a good session. Slightly underpowered through some of the bigger white water breakers so tried to stay in the shallower water - but preferable to being overpowered given the variability in the wind. Tried launching using a rope off the breakwater (thanks for the advice Neil). Works a treat, and seems a much safer self launch/land strategy in windy conditions and much kinder to the kite to boot ! Now I have joined Al's 'everything aches' club :)
